The following is my all-time favorite book about Walt Disney World:
I got it in 1990. It breaks down everything that Walt Disney World has to offer, as of 1990. It has much to say about Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park. If you’ve never heard of this park, it is because you are not old enough – it’s Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The book has this to say about “The Magic of Disney Animation”: “The heart of Disney has always been animation.” Of course, the heart is right next to the bladder, so it only makes sense that “The Magic of Disney Animation” is right next to the restroom.
In addition to this attraction, this restroom serves a couple of popular shows, plus a museum of Walt Disney artifacts – I mean a gallery exhibit. Disney parks are not museums, you know.
Here’s where I am going with this: This restroom is crowded. The two shows are crowd pleasers, and I will tell you about them now.
Opening in 1992 and still packing them in today is “The Voyage of the Little Mermaid.” It stars a spoiled brat who would change everything, including her species, for some guy she saw once. Turns out he’s a ruthless murderer. Anyway, it is among my favorites. And it spills right out and right into the restroom.
On the other side of the Animation Courtyard is “Disney Junior – Live on Stage!” This one is a crowd pleaser for the younger screaming, crying, diaper-wearing set. They also spill out and all over this restroom.
This means that the restroom is not only crowded, it is crowded with children. Though it is somewhat secluded, don’t be fooled. I still think you should skip it. My suggestion: Go see Aerosmith. Lawn seats are cheap.
PS – I’ll accept gratitude for avoiding “Brown Derby” jokes.
I know you generally stick to one park per post, but after the “gallery exhibit” line, I was almost disappointed not to see that Carousel of Progress pic one more time…
