Animal Kingdom is about celebration of all things natural. Nature gives us everything we need, and in abundance.
This blog is about celebrating nature as well, especially when nature calls. Nature’s abundance is quite obvious at Animal Kingdom when one considers the amount of restrooms available. If you were to meander from the parking lot to Finding Nemo, and really explore the Oasis and Discovery Island, you would pass by no less than eight (8!) restrooms!
There are two restrooms at park entrance, three on Discovery Island, and three in Dinoland (if you count Nemo, which I do. Clearly a fish is a dinosaur.). This is an incredible amount when compared to other Disney parks. For example, if you were to travel that same distance at Walt Disney Studios in Paris, you’d pass by one restroom. That whole park only has seven total, for heaven’s sake.
This park is designed for meandering. So, as you are running as fast as you can to the east side of the park, you might stop at the entrance to Dinoland for a quick bite at Flame Tree Barbecue. I suggest the ribs and a beer.
There is a certain irony here, of course. This is akin to the lobster tank at a seafood restaurant. Say you just came from Kilimanjaro Safaris and viewed some ankole cattle.
I get this same feeling at Coral Reef Restaurant at Epcot. But I digress.
After shoveling all that in, you’re going to need a pit stop. Luckily, there is a restroom offering right there!
If there is extra magic hours or rope drop or really any time during the morning, this place is nice and quiet. During meal times, however, it is a little insane. I always suggest non-restaurant restrooms during those times. I suggest the Africa entrance this time. Or, you can always look for Nemo. He’s walking among the dinosaurs.
